The church was started in 1978 as Fondren Southwest Baptist Church then relocated to Stafford and the name was changed to Westside Baptist Church. ln 2008 the church was dissolved and another church was started out of Parkwood Baptist church known as Glory Baptist Church.

Testimony of Pastor Larry LaFreniere

I was saved on October 30, 1988 at Parkwood Baptist church and called to preach in 1989. 

I served the Lord by preaching at nursing homes and in the jails. I taught Sunday School and preached from time to time at church. 

ln 1990 I began to serve as the associate pastor and youth director at Parkwood Baptist Church. 

ln 1996 I had the honor of serving as pastor of Westside Baptist Church in Stafford. 

From 2007 to 2008 I served as pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Hope Arkansas then came back to Texas to serve at Westside Baptist Church. 

In 2009 we started Glory Baptist Church to this present day. 

The most loving and kind people are God's people but especially the people of Glory Baptist Church. 

I was granted the great honor and wonderful privilege of pastoring this church. I believe no other pastor has been loved and cared for as I have been. The only regret I have is leaving for a season. I love this Church and will always be grateful for it. I am looking forward to many more years of serving with them and one day going to heaven together.
